Nebraska Gift Basket: The Classics

This year my husband and I hosted house guests for thanksgiving who had never been to Nebraska. We came up with the idea of having a Nebraska basket waiting for them in their room for when they arrived. A "best of the best" collection of classic things that come from Nebraska. 

We included Dorothy lynch dressing, Kool-Aid, Vic's Popcorn, Mistys Seasonings, and a Runza gift certificate. We also used a few of our favorite local vendors- James Arthur Wine, Old Market Candy Shop, and Pears Gourmet. 

There are so many different types of Nebraska baskets you could do - since there are a variety of wonderful local artisans. Next time I may do an Omaha basket and visit some local vendors for handcrafted items. Like Gray Plume Provisions, Hutch, Hello Holiday, and Aromas just to name a few. 

This was a fun idea that was very successful. Our guests didn't even know some of these items were from Nebraska and some they had never heard of before. What would you put in a Nebraska basket for your guests?
